“Mexico: Live it to Believe it”

Mexico is a great place to travel if you live in the USA since it’s so close! There are different regions that offer beautiful landscapes, cultures and of course delicious food! I’ve been to Mexico three times, twice with my husband, and have had great experiences all times.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Puerto Vallarta

We went to Puerto Vallarta on our honeymoon through Carnival Cruises. We had the afternoon to explore the city because we did a morning excursion to Yelapa. We did go snorkeling way off shore with a company who took us on the excursion. The fish were amazing to look at while snorkeling and the rock formations nearby were breathtaking.

We booked our excursion through the cruise line and it was expensive. This was our first trip so I wasn’t sure really what to do, so it was nice knowing that my booking was secure and taken care of. If you are new to traveling, it can be worth it just to book with the cruise line so you don’t have to worry about anything. If you are more seasoned as a traveler you can wait and book excursions when you get off the ship. But those can be expensive as well so you just need to know how to haggle. -Kylie

When we got back to Puerto Vallarta we found a great restaurant on the beach that had delicious and cheap food. If you get a chance to explore this area of Mexico I would recommend it!

Yelapa, Mexico

Yelapa

This is my favorite little village in Mexico! You can only get to Yelapa from Puerto Vallarta by boat, there are no roads! This town had some gorgeous views and the people were very friendly. We did a hike up through the village to the water fall and the people had stands selling their homemade goods along the trail. The water was mucky down on the beach side from the boats kicking up the sand, but it still was a wonderful place to relax on the beach!

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Cabo San Lucas

This was another stop on our honeymoon cruise. We didn’t have a lot of time in Cabo but we had some delicious Mexican food. Make sure to do your research before so you eat at a good restaurant! We walked around the bay and did some window shopping. I wish we had more time to explore this city.

Cozumel, Mexico

Cozumel

I visited Cozumel when I was in middle school when I went on a trip with a friend, so when we went on a couples trip a few years ago this was my second time visiting the city. We decided we were going to wait and buy excursions once we got off of the boat since they are expensive through the cruise lines. We wanted to go to a beach so we found a kiosk that was selling beach excursions. My husband is good at negotiating prices (which you can do in Mexico) and he got us very cheap tickets for like $35 a person for them to take us to a private beach, snorkeling and a drink was all included. The water was so clear and the sand was a little rocky but it was beautiful. We spent the day snorkeling, playing in the water, having lunch on the beach and just relaxing. They did take our pictures while we were snorkeling and you could buy the photos at the end of the day, which we did but you don’t have to. I would highly recommended doing something like this when you visit Cozumel!

Have you been to any of these places in Mexico? Let me know!
